I ran a 5K on Saturday to try and improve my seeding in the Bolder Boulder 10K in May. My previous qualifying time would have placed me in the 6th wave from the start (BB). I was trying to qualify for the B group with a 21:36, but fell short with a 22:47. I will probably be running in the BB group that has an expected finish of 47:15, which is still 2:30 minutes faster the my 10K PR.
My final standing was 72nd overall and 15th in my age group. My full report for the Sharin’ O’ the green is under the race report section.
Added a rating system to the race report.

1Mile, don’t worry. When I was younger and faster, I still had trouble running fast 5K’s since my training, like lots of Nike+ guys was geared for long distances. You’ll probably do better in the 10K once you can find some running room amidst the crowds because you can hold the faster pace longer now with your distance training under your belt. But how does the altitude affect your speed? One day I’ll do that race just to say I raced at altitude!
Good luck,
Alex

Thanks Alex,
I am still working on improving my speed in long and short distances. Now that the snow is gone, it will be easier to do some speed training.
