Astronaut Sunita Williams ran the Boston Marathon on a treadmill in space. She ran the marathon restrained to a treadmill on the international space station. She completed the run in 4 hours and 24 minutes. While she ran the space stationed covered 76,000 miles.
She will receive a medal and certificate, but she is not considered an official finisher. She qualified for the Boston Marathon in the 2006 Chevron Houston Marathon with a 3:27 finishing time.
